At KIPP Affirm, our students, staff, families, and community members work collaboratively to create a learning environment in which students’ identities, cultures, and community are explored, celebrated, and affirmed. Through consistency, authenticity, and always with love, we uplift our students by providing the knowledge and tools needed to develop strength, power, and pride in themselves and in their education. With this, our students are empowered to choose their own path, becoming changemakers and leaders of their community.
KIPP Affirm pairs strong academics with a vibrant, caring community. Our college-prep program blends rigorous academics with arts, wellness, and student choice. Students engage in inquiry-based science, rich reading and writing, and advanced math—including Algebra I Regents in 8th grade—while exploring identity and history in social studies. Guided Reading and individualized supports ensure every learner grows, and electives such as robotics, coding, theatre, dance, and team sports expand skills and passions. With meaningful traditions and wide-ranging electives, we prepare students to excel lead with confidence and compassion.

Throughout the year, we offer a variety of trips and events to celebrate student achievements and build community:
Affirm Block: Once a week, students engage in deep self-reflection, identity development, and relationship-building experiences that nurture character and resilience.
Affirmation Circles: Three times a week, small groups of 10–15 students meet to practice proactive dialogue, strengthen peer connections, and celebrate growth.
Whole Grade Celebration: Each week, students and staff come together to honor effort, achievements, and the joy of community.
Student Voice and Choice: From dynamic electives to student-led performances and clubs, every child explores passions and discovers new talents.
