At KIPP Beyond, we believe that bringing children of different backgrounds and perspectives together is one of the most powerful ways to prepare them for the world ahead. In a city as vibrant and diverse as ours, school can—and should—be the place where students exchange ideas and build the understanding our communities need. Research shows that diverse classrooms not only raise academic achievement and growth but also strengthen critical thinking, nurture empathy, and reduce bias—qualities that shape future leaders and engaged citizens. We believe we are better together.
Grounded in more than 25 years of proven KIPP NYC success, our academic program reflects that belief. Students explore inquiry-based science and read rich, diverse ELA texts, while advancing through a rigorous math sequence that culminates in Algebra I Regents. Civics weaves together history, current events, and debate, and certified learning specialists provide personalized support so every child is both challenged and encouraged. At KIPP Beyond, students gain the knowledge, character, and confidence to excel in a world they are ready to shape.
KIPP Beyond is where challenging academics and a vibrant, inclusive community come together. Our school-day “Beyond Block,” held four times a week, lets students dive into theater, digital media arts, visual arts, and athletics. After school, “Beyond Care” expands opportunities with debate, robotics, sailing, chess, drumming, maker space, and team sports like co-ed flag football, basketball, and volleyball. Weekly Community Meetings and “Founder’s Block” activities—such as Student Government, Girl Scouts, and Podcasting—foster leadership, identity, and a strong sense of belonging. With mindfulness and wellness practices woven throughout, KIPP Beyond helps students grow as curious scholars and confident, compassionate leaders ready for high school, college, and beyond.
